January Knit Along
Join us in a knit along (KAL) for the Home Cardigan by Caidree. The Home Cardigan is a drop shoulder, v-neck cardigan which is knit flat in stockinette. There are two versions of the pattern - either chunky yarn (15 stitches per 4") or DK (19 stitches per 4"). The KAL will include 4 two hour long sessions at which we will help you with the pattern and any new skills you may need to complete the project. These may include: how to read a pattern, how to make modifications to suit your body (e.g. armhole depth, sleeve length), how to knit short rows, how to pick up stitches for a button band and sleeve, how to make button holes and how to do a tubular bind off. In order to participate you must know how to knit and purl and to increase and decrease. There is a fee of $20, which includes your choice of pattern Home Cardigan (the chunky version) or Home Cardigan Lite (DK)) and tuition during the KAL sessions. In order to participate you must purchase your yarn for the project at Quintessential Knits.
The group sessions for the KAL will be on Wednesdays (Jan 10, 17, 24 and 31) from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Learn To Spin
Our Instructor Barbara Seeler will teach you the properties of fiber and how to apply that to spinning. You will begin on a drop spindle. Once you are comfortable with how fiber works you can take the wheel class. These are very informative classes and Barbara is a joy to learn from! Spindle, Wheel and Fiber are provided.
Spindle Class is December 13 from 10 - noon
