MAY 23 - Learn to Drop Spindle with Barbera Seeler

Caught the fiber bug and now you want to learn to spin? Or maybe you bought or were gifted a drop spindle but have been nervous to touch it? The good news is that Barbera is here to help! Our expert spinning instructor will be teaching a 2-hour class on how to spin with a drop spindle on Saturday, May 23rd. Please note, being able to drop spindle is a required prerequisite for the wheel spinning class that is being taught in June so be sure to sign up if you are wanting to take that class but don't know how to spin with a drop spindle yet

  • Max 6 people

  • Must pre-register

  • Must call or come to shop to register for class

  • $50

  • 10% discount for registering for both the drop spindle and wheel class at the same time

MAY 30 - Yarn Swap and Collection!

Time to spring clean your stash! Bring yarns to Quintessential Knits on Saturday, 5/30 from 10am - 3pm to swap or donate. There will be tables set out for people to place their swaps on and people will be welcome to peruse the offerings. The only requirement is that it must be a full ball/skein/hank of yarn WITH a clear label for allergy purposes. Sorry, no scraps this time. But other than that, all yarn is allowed. Homespun is welcome, with a written or printed label that outlines fiber content and weight. Notions are also welcome for swapping as well. Any and all yarn and notions left over will be donated to the Sno-Valley Senior Center for them to use in crafting projects for their residents.

During this event, we will also be collecting yarn and notions for a customer who teaches midwives in Africa how to knit. Requested for donation:

  • DK or Worsted Weight Yarn

  • Yarn must be soft enough for babies (but fiber content is not important, just softness)

  • Size 8 circular needles preferred but will accept up to a size 10

  • Stitch Markers

If you would like to contribute but don't have anything to give, we will have various offerings available for sale that can be added to the collection box for her.
