Happy July!
Tomorrow is the Fourth of July, and we’re closed so you can go enjoy time with friends and family. Don’t worry, we’ll be back on Thursday with lots of beautiful yarn just for you.
Big things are happening in little Duvall
Stop by the shop and see the total makeover—it’s amazing. We have a new private classroom and knitting space while still offering all the great yarns and fibers for your knitting, crocheting, weaving and spinning. Along with changing things up, Judy has been buying some great new yarns and restocking all of your favorites.
Hedgehog Fibres out of Ireland is the latest yarn addition. The glorious selection of flecks and solids have been snapped up quickly since the day they arrived. Stop by soon before they’re all gone.
What are you hankering for?
Have you seen the new field guide for Mason-Dixon Knitting (No. 7—Ease). While the shawl, washcloth, and blanket all look like fun to make, it’s the Sea Breeze Cowl-Poncho that has me totally smitten. Thankfully, we have stocked up on Spud & Chloe Sweater and Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton. I was at a barbeque last week, and this would have been the perfect answer to keep away the late evening chill.
Bittersweet
We’re so happy for her, but sad for us, as we say goodbye to our sweet Emma. She was just 16 when she joined the team at Quintessential Knits. Judy was a little hesitant because of her youth, but her charm and energy were just too good to pass up. While many people learned to knit from a favorite relative, Emma is a true Millennial and learned on YouTube. She downloaded tutorials and added a tech-savvy edge to the shop.
Now at the ripe old age of 20, Emma is off to WSU in the fall to study architecture. We wish her all the best and hope you will join us this month in saying goodbye. We will host a special party on August 4—Emma’s last day of work.
Let’s Be Friends
Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by for the KAL and CAL for the LYS patterns (I feel like I’m speaking in secret code). So many of you have made wonderful progress. Both the Leaf Points Scarf and All Squared Up Scarf—LYS are available on Ravelry. We’d love it if you could link to our patterns, so we can admire all your
finished projects.
We know they’re fabulous—just like you.
Summer is going by so quickly. Enjoy time with friends and family and make sure you have a little travel knitting for long car and plane rides.
