A Light At the End of the Tunnel

Things are looking up. Spring is nearly upon us. The sun has been shining. We are looking forward to good things coming. We want you to know how grateful we are for all of you - for dropping in, for wearing your masks, for being patient as we make changes and see our way through this, for being positive. You are all amazing!

Info We Want You to Know

Starting on April 2nd we will be extending hours a smidge. We will be open from 10am-3pm M, W, F, with Saturdays staying at 10am-2pm for now. We are excited to see you and help you with all your yarn and fiber-y needs. Come see us!

We Crow About FOs

Lately we are all about color work – Feast your eyes on our latest shop samples

The Recollect Cowl by Jennifer Steingass on Ravelry. You might also know her as Knit.love.wool on Instagram. This is a moebius cowl knit in the round and then kitchener-ed (yes! we're pretty sure that's a word) together at the end . The pattern calls for Sport weight yarn and this sample includes some shop staples: Sincere sheep, Swans Island, Queensland United. The squish factor is real!

The Unbearable Hat by Les Garcons on Ravelry – an amazingly quick and enjoyable knit. The sizing on this hat ranges from Toddler to Adult Large and can be worn as is or with the addition of ears or a pom pom. The pattern calls for DK weight yarn and we chose Prairie Spun DK by Juniper Moon Farms, one of our go to favorites for both softness and price point. The other cool thing about this motif… Les Garcons has patterns for a sweater with hood, available in both children and adult sizes. It calls to us. It might call to you too – check all their patterns out on Ravelry or the Les Garcons Website.

Yarn We Love Right Now

Coopknits Socks Yeah! fingering weight yarn. It’s a superwash wool/nylon blend, perfect for socks. The color palette ranges from soft, muted tones to loud, vibrant neons. More colors expected in April so when you drop by, take time to search this yarn out.

The socks pictured below were made using the Emily's Favourite Socks variation pattern from the Knits About Winter book by Emily Foden (which we have in stock if you are interested in seeing the other wardrobe staples this book offers). Exploring the Coopknits color palette has been a joy. Socks from Designers Rachel Coopey or Summer Lee would also be amazing in this yarn as well as engaging and super fun to knit. Meanwhile, follow them on instagram for some sock inspiration - (@coopknits, @summer.lee.knits)

New Yarn Waiting to Be Loved

Erika Knight Gossypium Cotton Tweed sport weight yarn. This yarn is 96% Cotton 4% Polyester with a beautiful sheen and softness to it. You’ll want to see and feel it to appreciate it. As summer approaches, this yarn would make wonderful t-shirt sweaters to add to your wardrobe. Some of our favorites: want something fairly simple but with tiny details to capture your interest - Check out Fable by Alicia Plummer and Rift by Jacqueline Cieslak, more interested in lace - Yume by Isabell Kraemer and Miya Tee by Valentina Bogdanova both fit the bill, need more color play in your life - Bobbie by Pam Allen and Mon Ami Breton by Hinterm Stein both let you play with 2 or more colors depending on your flavor and personality.
