Additionally, something everyone has been waiting for: CLASSES!

We’ll be offering 3 classes this cycle along with private lesson options. Sign-ups for classes will open in-store on Saturday 2/14 at 10am. Unfortunately we cannot offer waitlists at this time but stay tuned as we will be offering repeats of classes in the future. See below for more information:

General Class Information: all classes this cycle will be taught by the wonderful, highly knowledgeable Maddy. All yarn for classes must be purchased at Quintessential Knits but if you already have needles that work for the class, you’re welcome to bring those from home. Each class does have prerequisite skills, so please read carefully and ensure you’re comfortable with those techniques before signing up. Class sizes are also capped to ensure an optimal learning environment. Don’t know how to knit or are struggling to learn specific techniques? See the bottom for 1:1 or 1:2 private lesson options.

Basic Hat Class – 2-session class on Saturdays, Feb 21 and 28 from 10:30-12:30 ($90)

Join us to learn to knit a basic beanie-style hat.  This class is ideal for the new knitter. You will learn to knit in the round (ribbing and stockinette), shape the hat crown with right-leaning and left-leaning decreases, and practice small circumference knitting using double-point needles or “magic loop.”

To join the class you need to know how to cast on and how to do a knit stitch and a purl stitch. This class will be capped at five participants to ensure the instructor can give each student proper attention and feedback.

Materials: Size 8 (5mm) 16" circular needles plus size 8 (5mm) 40" circular needles OR DPNs; at least 100g (4oz) of worsted weight yarn

“My First Sweater” Learn-Along – 4-session class on Saturdays, starting March 14 from 10:30 to 12:30 ($120)

Together we will knit the Classic Crew Neck Pullover by Ashley Lillis.  We will guide you through the entire process: swatching, choosing your size, following pattern instructions, making modifications if needed, and finally, blocking and caring for your finished garment.

To participate you need to know how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl.  You must pre-order/buy your yarn in-store, purchase the pattern through Ravelry, and knit a swatch before the first class.

Materials: As stated in the pattern.  Recommended yarns - Blue Sky Fibers Sweater and Juniper Moon Farms Cotton Merino. Any special orders of yarns/colors must be placed by end-of-day Thursday 2/26 to ensure delivery prior to class start. This learn-along will be capped at six participants to ensure the instructor can give each student appropriate attention and feedback.

Sock Class – 3-session class on Tuesdays, starting March 3 10-12 noon ($135)

Learn how to knit a pair of socks.  Using DK weight yarn, we will knit a sock from the cuff down using the “heel flap and gusset” construction method.  You will also learn about the pros and cons of other heel types and how to make modifications to achieve the best fit for your foot.

To join you need to know how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl.

Materials: Size 3 (3.25mm) 32" or 40" circular needles for magic loop or Size 3 (3.23mm) DPNs; 100g of DK weight sock yarn. This class will be capped at five participants to ensure the instructor can give each student proper attention and feedback.
